Communicate With Your Neighbors
This is another obvious security tip, which, in my opinion, is one the most important on the list. In this day and age, it is not so uncommon for people to not even have met their neighbors. I talk to all my neighbors for several houses down on both sides and across the street. Don’t be such a hermit crab!
1. Your neighbors shouldn’t be strangers. Talk to them. Keep each other posted of suspicious activity in the neighborhood. If you trust them enough, let them know when you’ll be out of town. If not, have someone you do trust stop by the house occasionally when you’re gone. Any activity is better than no activity around the home.
